The current VW product lineup does not have transmission dipsticks. They are "filled for life". However, as a VW technician, I recommend taking it to the dealership when your vehicle reaches 80 to 100 thousand miles for a transmission filter and fluid flush (Automatic transmission only). Since the newer VW's have the DSG (Dual Shift Gearbox), special fluid is necessary. Next time you take your vehicle in to the dealer for a oil change or other repair, ask them about your transmission. Since there are many different transmissions and different maintenance schedules (Golf R32's require a regular filter change on their gearboxes)

It doesn't have a dip stick. it's a sealed unit. At least that's how was on a Passat I had with the tiptronic.
the auto box in my passat is a tiptronic box and as such it does not have a dip stick if the same box is in your Jetta then take it to a transmission specialist who knows how to check the oil for you as it needs to be conected to a scanner to determin the fluiod levelGlynn SheffieldSee this answer it may help: Special:Contributions

Where is transmission dip stick 95 Acura car
There is no dip stick on this vehicle for the transmission. There is a plug you remove that you fill it in one hole until it pours out the cap on the front of the transmission. You are supposed to remove the plastic cap before filling and then replace it with a new one. I always reuse the old one never had a problem.
there is no dip stick. you have to remove bolt from the side of the transmission

It is safe to operate your vehicle without a dip stick in the transmission. The dip stick is mainly used to test the level of fluid in the transmission.

The dipstick is a special tool only available to the dealer.
