I have a 1999 Legacy SUS and my dipstick is located on the driver side of the vehicle directly below some vaccum lines. It is just a few inches from the firewall and you can see the transmission filter clearly. The dipstick's tube enters the transmission right next to the filter.
I assume it is the same for my 96 Impreza, but when I changed mine, I poured it in where the transmission dipstick was through a funnel
On the 2013 Subaru Legacy, the transmission dipstick is located near the rear of the engine bay, typically on the passenger side. It is usually marked with a yellow or red handle for easy identification. To check the transmission fluid level, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is running, then pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and check the fluid level.
A 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback requires: For automatictransmission: DEXRON III For manual transmission: GL5 75W90 gear oil
If it is an A/T, the same place you check it. If it is manual, under the car on the upper side of the transmission. Yes, auto trans fluid added through the dipstick tube, located just about under the brake master cylinder-- use a long funnel and pour slowly. If a 5 speed manual, add through the dipstick tube, but this one is located on the right (passenger) side of the transmission, about 1/3 of the way back on the case.
Should fit second generation Legacy/Outback model year 1995 to 1999.....
Goes into the dipstick reservoir...
It should be.
The starter on a 2002 Subaru Legacy Outback is located on the driver's side of the engine, near the transmission. It is positioned towards the bottom of the engine, typically just above the oil pan. To access it, you may need to remove the protective cover and possibly some other components for better visibility and reach.
In a 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback, the neutral safety switch is typically located on the transmission. It is mounted on the side of the transmission housing, near the shift linkage. To access it, you may need to remove the undercarriage cover or other components for better visibility. Always consult a repair manual for specific instructions and safety precautions.
Transfer case is lubricated by the transmission fluid.
It is located on the engine block drivers side.
