there is a fill plug on the passenger side rear of the transmission, toward the top. its a 15/16" hex. there is no dipstick. you can find the refill procedure in the sequoia section under "how do you refill Transmission Fluid in a 2005 seqouia" the transmission and the procedure are the same.

The transmission dipstick is located to the left of the engine on a 1996 Toyota Avalon. It is near the oil dipstick.
Follow the transmission dipstick which is located just below your right windshield wipers in the engine bay. You should see a pan with a 10mm bolt ref. to auto trans 1999 toyota 4runner
All automatic transmissions fill thru the dipstick tube.
Your 1992 Toyota transmission will hold 12 quarts of transmission fluid, when it is empty. You can check the transmission fluid level with the dipstick.
There is no recall for the Toyota 4runner transmission. Some Toyota's have had break problems that may have started the recall rumors on some Toyota products but, there is no recall for the Toyota 4runner transmission.

If it's a 1992 V6 4Runner with an automatic transmission, the three wire speed sensor for the speedometer is located on the extension housing of the transmission.
If you know where the transmission dipstick is located you use a funnel and pour the transmission fluid into the place where the dipstick came from.
my 2007 camry has no dipstick! had to fill it through the cooler line.
The 2009 Toyota 4Runner has a 5-speed automatic.
The 2005 Toyota 4Runner has a 5-speed automatic.
