Looking at the motor from the front, in the middle all the way to the back, near the windshild. It has a red o-ring handle. Three speed 3T40 transaxles (2.2L only) will have a dipstick, whereas the four speed 4T40-E (2.2L or 2.4L) will not have a dipstick. The 4T40-E has an oil check plug located above the pan in the center of the torque converter side of the transaxle; it is recommended to check fluid only when a leak has occured.
The transmission dipstick on a 1994 Pontiac Sunfire is located on the left side of the engine. It connects to the transmission via a long tube which also allows for adding transmission fluid.

Some early model Sunfires have a dipstick. In my '96, the dipstick is located near the firewall, down and inboard from the brake fluid reservoir.
There is no dipstick for the transmission. It has a check valve on the side of the pan.

It doesn't have one but they can check the transmission fluid at any place that does oil changes
There may or may not be one. Some Sunfires, the earlier ones I think, had them. Later models did not. In my '96, the dipstick is located essentially under the brake fluid reservoir near the firewall. FriPilot
The oil dipstick is right up front, center. It is built into the lid covering the oil fill tube. Just unscrew and pull it straight up. The transmission dipstick is located near the firewall, down from the brake master cylinder.

The transmission dipstick for the 1991 Chevrolet Caprice is located on the side of the transmission. It will be behind a valve cover.
you dump rite down the dipstick tube
Not usually. The dipstick is used to check the oil level. Oil is added where the oil filler cap is - usually located on the valve cover and will screw counterclockwause for removal. That is unless you are talking about transmission fluid in which case the dipstick hole is the same place where you add fluid. On the Sunfire/Cavalier 2.2 engine YES you do add the oil and check the oil in the same place the dipstick is attached to the oil cap.

Some Sunfires have a dipstick and others don't. It seems that the earlier models did have one, but don't quote me here. In my '96, the dipstick is located near the firewall, down and inboard from the brake fluid reservoir. FriPilot
In a 1997 Nissan Altima, the transmission dipstick is located next to the motor. The dipstick has a red handle to pull out.
It's a sealed system so there is not dipstick. If it slips, take it in...if it's leaks take it in. I personally hate that ;-)
