Drop the transmission pan, the filter will be the 1st thing you see.
This vehicle do not have a transmission filter. All you have to do is drain the trans. fluid and refill.

Its probably that your tansmission is shot, either that or you havnt changed the transmission fluid and it may be dirty and built up and or the filter hasn't been changed in a while. If you look at the transmission fluid and its not a redish color and its like brown almost a oil color than you will have to bleed it out and refill with fresh transmission fluid.
The transmission filter is not in the pan like most other vehicles. On a 1990 acura legend it's an inline filter kinda looks like a fuel filter but located by the radiator.
