tranny machine filled, no reservoir...
I was looking at the 2000 Lincoln LS Owner Guide and it shows that the 5R55N automatic transmission does not have a fluid level dipstick
If a Lincoln LS V8 is making a engine noise when it is shifted into drive or reverse, it could indicate a seized gear in the transmission. It could also indicate a low transmission fluid warning.
( one ) power steering pump , the power steering fluid reservoir is on the drivers side of the engine . There is a reservoir on the passenger side of the engine which is for the engine cooling fan hydraulic fluid . Both of the reservoirs take MERCON automatic transmission fluid according to the 2001 Lincoln LS Owner Guide
what is making my Lincoln ls v8 backfire under the engine
There is no dipstick for the transmission. To check the transmission you have to open the Transmission Resivior and see the fluid level in there.
I was looking at a picture in the 2004 Lincoln LS owners manual and it shows that the engine coolant reservoir is located on the drivers side of the engine compartment next to the firewall ( you can see the cap for the reservoir through a hole in some kind of panel )
05 Lincoln LS v8 and probably the entire Lincoln ls v8 year range
For a 2001 Lincoln LS : Both the 3.0 liter V6 engine and the 3.9 V8 have the engine oil dipstick on the drivers side of the engine , near the power steering fluid reservoir
05 Lincoln ls v8 and probably the entire Lincoln ls v8 year range
were are oil stick located on lincoln Ls 3.9 v8
According to the 2003 Lincoln LS owners manual : Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used as the power steering fluid
According to the 2002 Lincoln LS Owner Guide : ( MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used as the power steering fluid )
