Follow the top radiator hose from the radiator , it connects to a metal pipe , the other end of the metal pipe is permanently connected to the thermostat housing which is bolted to the front of the engine , the thermostat is inside the thermostat housing
Motorcraft . com lists ( Motorcraft RT1161 ) a 190 degree Fahrenheit thermostat for the 1995 Ford Explorer to be used year round
My 1995 Ford Explorer was running cooler on the temperature gauge and it turned out to be my thermostat
According to one of Fords websites : A 1995 Ford Explorer , 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine takes : ( the Motorcraft RT-1086 engine cooling thermostat , 197 * Fahrenheit )
On a 1995 Ford Aerostar : If it is the 4.0L EFI V6 engine ( like my 1995 Ford EXPLORER ) it has an " O " ring for the thermostat , there is no gasket But , if it is the 3.0L V6 engine I believe a thermostat gasket is used
On a 1995 Ford Explorer : No ( at least my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT doesn't )
Follow the top radiator hose from the radiator , it connects to a metal pipe which is part of the engine thermostat housing that is bolted to the front of the engine . The engine thermostat is inside the thermostat housing
A 2002 Ford Explorer would have come from the factory with approximately a ( 192 * Fahrenheit engine cooling thermostat )
I don't have a picture of the engine cooling thermostat but on a 1995 Ford Explorer : If you follow the top radiator hose from the radiator it connects to a metal pipe ( which is part of the thermostat housing ) that is bolted to the front of the engine The engine cooling thermostat is inside the housing * the spring side of the thermostat faces towards the engine , the vent hole goes to the top
The automatic transmission in a 1995 Ford Explorer is electronically controlled
I was looking at ford parts website and Ford has the thermostat parts list / MSRP as $ 31.08 as of March 11 , 2010 ) WHEW ! but you would have to see what a Ford dealer would sell it for because I paid $ 7.85 and taxes back in 2001
A 1995 Ford Explorer is unlikely to be stolen by ants.
