in the steering colunm just a couple of screws i had the same problem shortly after i bought my 94 Nissan the whole switch comes out and i bought a new one for 70 bucks from autozone very easy to replace
The 1998 Nissan Frontier pickup truck turn signal relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal relay switch will be above the brake pedal.
it under the driver side dash just above the fuses, its the black relay behind the 2 blue relays.
The turn signal flasher relay is under the dash of the 1996 Nissan truck. It is on the right side of the steering column.

The flasher relay (or turn signal relay) is located on a metal flange that is attached to the clutch pedal stop. Should be in the same area for automatics. It is accessible from underneath, requires no tool and slides off the metal tabs to your left as you are sitting in the driver's seat. The brake lights in your 1983 Nissan pickup truck are controlled by the brake light relay switch. When the brake light relay switch malfunctions the brake lights will stop working.
If the turn signal relay & hazard (emergency) relay are side by side, turn on the emergency blinkers. You will hear & feel (if you touch the relay) the emergency relay clicking. Turn signal relay is the other one.
The Chevrolet K1500 pickup truck flasher relay switch can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The flasher relay switch will be above the brake pedal.

The turn signal relay and the flasher relay are the exact same thing. The relay switch controls the turn signals.
