The French had no direct cause, but they sure played a role in it. During that time, the British and French were at war. Both in resentment of the Americans, they seized American ships and goods (known as impressment.) Slowly, American and British found themselves at war. With the British battling the French and Americans at the same time, it was not easy. it had somthing to do with their loss of the war.
Both are to blame , but the major blame is on John Kennedy.
