Yes. Often referred to as the "French Indochina War" or sometimes the "1st Indochina War." In South Vietnam, amongst the GIs they called it the "French War." They sometimes used to say, "...theres over 2,000 Frenchmen buried up there in the Mang Yang Pass (Highway 19/QL 19) when they fought here during the "French War."
