The most troublesome part on these drill presses is the speed-control circuit board. The board simply will not handle the current drawn when using larger-diameter drills (half-inch, for example) at the necessary low speeds large drills generally require when working in metals.
Rather than replacing the poorly-designed speed-control board, simply bypass it and use a variable transformer (Variac tm, for example) with at least 20 amps capacity. Be sure to keep the original on-off switch in the circuit !!!
The other part that may be difficult to find is the router chuck. Best wishes on locating one.
But for the excessive high-frequency noise from the high speed motor and the direct-drive gearbox, these are good tools. The original Supreme chuck is fine chuck, too.
