There is a schrader valve on the low side line, refered to as the low side service port. This is where you add refrigerant to the system, usually with the a/c running. If you aren't confident in what you're doing, then don't mess with your a/c system. The system is under about 60 psi of pressure at rest, over 150 psi when running. If you're charging with a "grenade" can (as in from your local autoparts store) and mess up, the can WILL explode. I dont mean go pop and hiss, i mean shrapnel flying everywhere. BE CAREFULL!!! Or just take it to your local shop and pay them to take care of it. Trust me, its money well spent to keep you (and your a/c system) safe.
