There are two main locations where the Vehicle Identification Number is located for all full-size US built Ford passenger cars. The easiest location to find is on the patent plate (sometimes known as the data plate), located on the left front door A-pillar, riveted to the dog leg. If this plate has been removed the other location in on right frame rail's top face. Depending on which assembly plant produced your car, you may have to look in one of two place, the first is by the front horn where near where the first cross-rail connects, the second would be located between the front suspension and the front body mounting bolt. If there is grease or other "road crud", this will need to be cleaned off with a degreaser and wire brush. Good luck.
You will also find it under the rear seat cushion stamped on the floor of the body.

It is located on the firewall.
It should be found attached to the left front body pillar.
There should be an S in the VIN. I believe it should be the sixth digit.
There are no VIN numbers on a 1955 Ford. There are manufacture data plates. Look on the firewall, door post, inside glove box, in trunk.
Ford truck enthusists has a vin decoder.
Were are all the vin numbers on a 1973 ford bronco
The vin plate on a 1955 ford pickup is located on the inside of the glove box door. it is riveted into the back edge of the door so if your glove box door is gone you will be out of luck on that truck.
where is the vin located on a ford f350 frame 1989
the VIN on a 55' f-100 is on the inside of the glove box door. You may also find it on top of the drivers side frame rail, between the firewall and the steering gear box.
Most states recognize the frame number as the official VIN in this vintage Ford. It will be stamped in the frame in various locations depending on the model vehicle. Look for it in the engine compartment. Look on top of the frame rail on either side of the motor. Could be anywhere from the firewall to the front cross member. May possibly be on the front cross memeber. It will be the full VIN. ----
To find a Ford VIN number one should either go to the autobody dealer whom the Ford vehicle was purchased from, or one can go to the Ford Fleet website and follow the procedures there.
