If it's like my 1987, and I imagine it is, the alternator is internally regulated, so you won't find a voltage regulator box like you would on some older vehicles. In short, the voltage regulator is in the alternator.

The voltage regulator is located, or integrated inside the alternator,and must be replaced as a unit, unless you can find an electrical auto shop that can rebuild it for you.
Regulator is mounted on the back of alternator. It is replaceable if you can find parts. Brushes are there also.
