My experience has shown that it is still the largest freetraffic i get: SEO. Search engine optimization. If you do right way, you will get mass of free traffic from search engines. The basisfor this is, that you have quality high traffic and low competition keyword in your domain name. Then of course you muust optimize your blog or website on this keyword. Best density in my opinion is from: 3,50%-5,50%.
Second stage is that you get few realy high quality backlinks. For backlinks i mean Edu,Gov,Wikis. Here you add unique optimize article with anchor link to your website or blog. Answer best possible way on edu and gov blog comments.
This is for my humble opinion best way to get realy laser targeted free traffic to your website. If you find long tail keyword or buying keyword, then you definitely almost win.
For Wiki, is the best possible way, that when you open account with some (easy keyword niche nick name), wait few days and then add maximum two times your website url like anchor text.
The second best way is at least for me, social bookmarking. Open account with some: OnlyWire or SocialPoster and you can then submit your url with quick comment to more then 20 social accounts.
