Before you add brake fluid, are you SURE you need to add some? Because as brake pads wear, the brake fluid level goes down, but the brake pads need to be replaced then, BEFORE any brake fluid is added. Otherwise, when the brake pads ARE replaced, there will be too much brake fluid in the reservoir, and it will flow out when the pistons are pushed back into it's bore, to make room for the new pads. -Tom.

Master cylinder. Located on the firewall, driver's side, in front of the brake booster.

Mopar ATF+3 or ATF+4 trans fliud Dot 3 brake fluid
The brake fluid reservoir on a 1989 Mazda 626 is on the master cylinder. This is located in the engine compartment on the drivers side.
Under the hood, under the battery theres the Transmission Dipstick... Just pull it out, take a long like funnel, put it on and fill it up.
Above the master cylinder, below the brake fluid reservoir lid.
