Lee's first invasion of the north was in 1862 in Maryland and culminated in the Battle of Sharpsburg, also known as Antietam, on September 17, 1862.
His second invasion which also saw his army still farther north was in Pennsylvania and ended with the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1-3, 1863.
