King Henry the Fifth. The play is based on historical facts. There is an account of Henry V in Holinshed's Chronicles, and there was an earlier play on the subject.

Henry V, in the play Henry V. He is encouraging his troops to storm a breach in the walls of Harfleur. The speech which follows is one of the two famous speeches from the play and one of the most famous in all of Shakespeare.
Shakespeare was influenced in his decision to write a play about Henry V by the fact that his two plays about the youth of this king were a huge success, and he wanted to follow it up with a sequel.
He wrote his play Henry V, which includes the Battle of Agincourt, around 1598.

He was Henry the eldest son of Henry IV in the two Shakespeare plays Henry IV Parts One and Two. Later he goes on to become King Henry V at the end of Part 2 and continues throughout the play Henry V.
