No. Concentration camps were not all in present day Germany, but they were all in areas that were occupied by Germany while they were in use. There were thousands of "concentration camps" in German - Konzentrationslager. These are often confused (in English) with death camps - in German - Vernichtungslager,of which there were seven. These are the camps with the infamous names of Auschwitz, Kulmhof (which were located in Germany, in the part which was ceded to Poland at the end of WWII); Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka and Majdanek(which were located in German occupied Poland) and Maly Trostinets which was in occupied Russia. These seven camps had the function of systematic murder. A 'normal' Konzentrationslager 'only' murdered those too sick or too old to work or as a form of punishment The Vernichtungslagerwere built for the purpose of mass extermination. The National Socialist Party (Nazi Party) not only murdered Jews, but also homosexuals and the handicapped. ___ Auschwitz was part of Poland from 1919-1939, and before that it was part of the Austrian Empire. Kulmhof was also part of Poland from 1919-1939, having previously been in West Prussia. The statement "located in Germany, in the part which was ceded to Poland at the end of WWII" is not accurate as the annexation of these areas from Poland in 1939 was not generally recognized internationally. It is agreed that the German annexation of Poland in 1939 was not recognized internationally, this dispute was the beginning of WWII. However, the areas where Auschwitz and Klumhof were located were historically German speaking areas. These areas were administered as German states by the Nazis, as opposed to the rest of Poland which was administered by the occupational German army. From the point of view of the builders of these infamous camps, they were on German territory.
