An International Harvester 656 Tractor was produced from 1965 to 1973 with an original MSRP of $7300. I suggest looking at the Tractor Data website for much more information, here is the link: http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/000/3/4/346-international-harvester-656.html You can find information on the tractor 656 international by visiting www.tractordata.com. You can also look on www.tractorshed.com and www.antiquetractors.com.
You can find some good prices on used international harvester tractors online at www.caseih.com, www.batescorp.com, and also at www.antiquefarming.com.
send me the serial number and the manufactures name, i.e. springfield, winchester, international harvester, etc.....................
Try "Hemmings Motor News" or e-Bay.
If you are mechanically inclined, then you will be able to work on this tractor yourself. However, you will have to be knowledgeable in this area. You can find great prices on parts at www.alibaba.com ۼ Showroom.
I would first look on eBay motors as this is a great place to find most anything. If you are willing to travel to pick up the truck then you could also check craigslist in other states.
You call an International dealer, give them the VIN, and let them look up the product spec sheet.
At a crappy dealer
Open the hood on the left side and on the cowl or firewall you will find a black and silver plate that has all the vehicle specs on it the line called chassis number is your serial number.
If you have access to the internet you can find the nearest dealership through their website. Go to http://www.navistar.com/Trucks/Find+a+Dealer and enter your location. There are several International Trucks dealership located in the country. If you visit www.navistar.com you can find the one closes to you.
As it is such a large item (International 4300 is a truck) they can be hard to come by. The best place to look is your local truck dealership or perhaps an online automotive dealer.
