Answer
In the United States you have to sign divorce papers and you usually get a copy once the divorce is final. If you did not file for the divorce you need to find out where it was filed, meaning what jurisdiction - county - state, etc. The courthouse in the jurisdiction where the divorce was filed will have a copy of a final divorce decree.
for me to know and you to never find out

Call your 'county clerk's' office... If they don't know, they can at least give you the number to who will know.
You put the details that you know in.
You can still get divorced, which as you know, you need to do before you try to get remarried (bigamy is bad). You need to use "due dilligence" to try to find your wife and once the court is satisfied that you have done this you can proceed with the divorce in the same manner as if she was a part of the process. The court will issue a default divorce and you will in fact be divorced.
your divorced
Not that I know of, but if you watch that one episode from South Park you can find out about the record for the longest sh*t ever taken.
Your lawyer should have sent you the paperwork showing the divorce as completed. The divorce paperwork is a public record and is available to anyone down at the courthouse too.
