Joliet Correctional Center (colloquially known as Joliet Prison) was a prison in Joliet, Illinois, United States from 1858 to 2002. It is featured in the motion picture The Blues Brothers as the prison Jake Blues is released from at the beginning of the movie. It is also the location for the first season of Fox Network's Prison Break television show. Although season 2 had scenes at Fox River those scenes were no longer shot at Joliet as production for the series had moved to the Dallas, Texas area. In Season 3, a fictional prison set was built in Texas to represent the SONA where Scofield, Mahone, Bellick, and Bagwell were incarcerated and waiting trial.
Websites say the series occurred within 8 months before skipping 4 years ahead at the end of the final episode.
