Dinner shows are so popular at Walt Disney World that hard reservations, pre-paid in advance by credit card, are accepted up to 180 days in advance.

  • The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue remains on of the most beloved Disney attractions. Its corny humor and hillbilly music by 6 performers is something of an annual rite of passage for many people. Make your reservations as soon as you are sure of your travel dates as this is the most popular. Any vegetarian meals need to be requested in advance. The menu includes down-home favorites such as ribs, fried chicken, corn on the cob, and strawberry shortcake served family style. Take a boat from the Magic Kingdom, as parking anywhere near Pioneer Hall is impossible. If you miss your reservation, you'll be charged anyway, unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Mickey's Backyard Barbeque is offered seasonally, March through late November. The food is not great, but it's an easy way for children to spend some quality time with Mickey & Minnie, Chip and Dale, and Goofy. Menu is Hamburgers, hotdogs and the like, with vegetarian entrees available.
  • The Spirit of Aloha is the show that was the Luau in former years. It features roast chicken, ribs, shrimp and pineapple cake, with vegetarian options available. The Polynesian-themed show of sanitized hula dances by attractive dancers.

There are also several non-Disney dinner theater experiences in the Orlando area, including Arabian Nights, Pirate's Dinner Adventure, Medieval Times, Capone's, and Sleuths Mystery Dinner. Ask for discount coupons at your (non-Disney) hotel or from the Chamber of Commerce.
