Actually, there are two amendments about Alcoholic Beverages, or Prohibition. "Prohibition" was about prohibiting (banning, forbidding) the possession of alcohol. The First Amendment to address the issue was the 18th Amendment, in 1920. But while banning alcohol seemed like a great idea to its proponents, it was wildly unpopular and more difficult to enforce than anyone had expected, plus it led to an increase in criminal activity (smuggling liquor into the country, for example). By the early 1930s, that amendment was ready for repeal, and the 21st Amendment did in fact repeal it in 1933.
The Prohibition amendment ended the legal production, distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages.
The twenty-first amendment repeals the eighteenth amendment.
The 28th amendment to the US Constitution is the amendment that banned the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages. It was ratified on January 16, 1919.
The Twenty-first Amendment to the U. S. Constitution repealed the Eighteenth Amendment and made possession and use of alcohol legal again.
You are probably referring to the 21st Amendment, which ended Prohibition. The 18th amendment to the Constitution (1919) made it illegal to manufacture, sell or distribute alcoholic beverages. It was supposed to reduce alcoholism and lower crime rates (many crimes were related to drunkenness), but it turned out to be a very unpopular law, as well as a law that was nearly impossible to enforce. By 1933, the 21st Amendment had repealed it.

The 18th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States forbid the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages. The 18th Amendment was repealed in 1934 after nearly 14 years of prohibition.

The Prohibition amendment ended the legal production, distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages.
The eighteenth amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale, transport, import, or export of alcoholic beverages.
The 18th amendment to the US Constitution was called prohibition, this is because the selling, drinking, and distributing alcoholic beverages was outlawed and no one was allowed to drink alcoholic beverages. However, the US government realized that they could not enforce a law of this magnitude and abolished it with the 21st amendment which stated that alcoholic beverages were allowed to be sold, drunk, and distributed throughout the US.
