The worst place to be in a tornado is outside or in a car. Outside, of course, you are completely exposed. Cars offer little to no protection from debris, the main killer in a tornado, and can be easily rolled or tossed as well. Other bad places to be include under a bridge, and in a trailer.

You should not be in a mobile home if there is a tornado coming. Mobile homes are very susceptible to tornado damage and should be abandoned for sturdier shelter during a tornado warning.
if you are in a car and no shelter is available, stop and lie down in a ditch. if you are in a home go to the basement or cellar. If no basement is available go to a central room on the ground floor away from windows. A bathroom or closet often provides good shelter.
