The Singer Building was the tallest in the world from the time of its completion in 1908, until 1909.
When it was first built (1931), the Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world.
Then the World Trade Towers became the tallest buildings in the world in 1973, until they were surpassed by the Sears Tower (aka Willis Tower) in Chicago, Illinois, two years later. (There seems to be some confusion about this. One website I checked said that the Sears Tower was completed in 1973, and another said it was completed in 1975. Either way, the World Trade Towers were definitely the tallest buildings in the world for a little while. I have included links to both websites so you can decide for yourself).
New York City. :-)
The city that is famous for high buildings is New York City with 6,504 high-rise buildings. However, New York only ranks second to Hong Kong with 7,896.
As of now, Tokyo, Japan is the city with the highest population in the world.
The State of New York has more land than buildings. The City of New York may have more buildings than land.

Probably New York City
In the united states it is New York City and the rest of the countries is Hong Kong. But Hong Kong has the most in the world.
New York City. Also known of course as "The Capital of the World". Boasting over 8,000,000 stories, it has the largest number of sky scrapers in the world! I think you'll find it's Hong Kong!
