To open a window, often times just by clicking on whatever you want opened will do the trick. Still, you can also right click on whatever you want opened and you will be prompted with a box, with an option of opening being present as well.

Now that whatever you want opened is opened, let's say for example it will be a Word document. To minimize it, you will see in the top right corner an icon which looks like this " _ ". Clicking once on it will minimize your page down to the bottom of your screen. To return it, simply re-click on the link which is now currently residing on the bottom of your page and voila, its back.

To maximize a page, click on the icon right next to the minimize icon (In the top right) It looks like a square. Finally to close a window, click on the " X " icon at the top right and away it will disappear.

What do the minimize maximize and close buttons do?

The minimize button reduces a window to an icon. Clicking the icon restores it. The maximize button increases the size of a window to fill the whole screen or (if an MDI (Multiple Document Interface) window, to fill the parent window's client area). Clicking it again restores the window. The close button closes the window and initiates the document close sequence.

What is the difference between window and dialog page?

To be precise all dialog boxes are windows, but, a dialog is one that requires input from the user such as the Print dialogue and remains in front of the application window until cancelled or completed unlike a new email window which can be minimised. In addition to this, The basic difference between a dialog box and a window is: 1. A dialog box expects immediate response from the user. However, a window does not expect immediate reponse. Moreover, a dialog box closes to process user reponse. This is not the case with a window. 2. A window consists of minimize, maximize, and close buttons on the right end of the title bar. On the other hand, a dialog box only consists of help and close buttons on it title bar. 3. A dialog box consists of OK and Cancel buttons on the lower right corner. A window, on the other hand, does not consist of such buttons.

What do people maximize and minimize on their computers?

Computer users commonly maximise and minimise application windows. Maximising a window usually makes that window fill almost the entire screen. Minimising a window usually shrinks the window down to pretty much just a button placed on the taskbar. That button can then be clicked to restore the window to it's previous size.
