A router is a networking device that forwards data on a network.
I would consider it to be an input and output device , because it puts out a message that the user would have recorded previously , and it accepts inward a message from a caller . it also allows messages to be replayed / output sound to the user .
Input device
A Microphone does not output sound. It accepts sound. It is an input device.

When a packet arrives at the network layer on the sender's device, it is encapsulated into a frame whose destination MAC address is all fs (FF-FF-FF...). The switch connected to the sender's device recognizes the all fs MAC address as a broadcast message and hence forwards it to all its ports.
The message goes through unilateral wires to another person's device.
The device is not recognized.
A unicast message is a message directed to a specific device on a network (just one specific device). It would have a destination IP address that corresponds to that device.
