In the fuse panel on the driver's end of the dash (cover is visible with the driver's door open ) in location # 16 there is a 30 amp fuse for the front wipers In the power distribution box in the engine compartment (PD BOX IS LIVE - DISCONNECT YOUR NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE ) there is a wiper run relay located in the row nearest the driver's side front fender, in the first space at the front end of the PD BOX and there is a wiper Hi - Lo relay in the 2nd row from the driver's side fender , in the second space from the front end of the PD BOX .( I wish they had numbers listed for the PD BOX along with the diagram ! ) It also doesn't say if the relays are for the front wipers or the back wiper !

I was looking at the 1996 Ford Explorer Owner Guide and it shows : An arrow pointing to the passenger side of the engine compartment , for Engine compartment relay module # 2 ( it contains 2 large relays and 2 small relays and the front washer pump relay is the small relay at the bottom ) * I believe the relay box is actually between the passenger side headlight and the engine air filter housing , but I'm not a mechanic / technician , I just noticed there is what looks like a relay box there on my 1995 Ford Explorer
