Chronos is the greek titan who gave birth to the gods of the greek religion. After his partner, Rea (Ρέα in greek), gave birth to the gods, Chronos would consume them in fear that they would overthrow him. Zues, the youngest of the gods, was hidden from Chronos on an island where he was kept hidden by numerous mythical creatures until he was powerful enough to defeat Chronos. Zues freed his fellow gods by cutting open the stomach of Chronos. Together, the gods defeated Chronos and cut him into many pieces where they are kept separated for it is said if the pieces were to come together he would be too powerful to defeat. ********* Is it Cronos or chronos? Chronos was the Greek personification of Time. Not Cronus. Not Kronos. Chronos. He is not the father of the gods. He is the primordial personification of Time that predates the Titans and all the other gods.
Before Hera was born to Rhea and Chronos, Chronos was told by Gaia and Uranus that his son would overthrow him, just as he did to his father. Upon hearing this, each child that Rhea bore (Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon) were swallowed whole by Chronos. When their youngest son, Zeus, was born Rhea wrapped a stone in a blanket for Chronos to swallow. When Zeus was old enough, he poisoned Chronos and freed his brothers and sisters, in effect, having them born twice. In this fashion, all major Gods and Goddesses of Olympus had unusual births.
There isn't any particular terms for older Greek gods -- unless you mean the Titans, who weren't gods, but Chronos sired six of the original gods and goddesses.
Cronus and Rhea are the parents/grandparents/great-grandparents etc of the greek gods. If you mean CHRONOS, he's the gods's great-granddad and so on.
Chronos or Kronos is basically the god of time. In Greek mythology he was the father of the famous Greek gods, but he ate all of them until Zeus because his mother, Rhea, hid him. Zeus then challenged him and made Kronos vomit all his siblings.
In Greek mythology, Chronos (or Kronos) was a Titan and the father of Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter. These six deities were known as the Olympian gods and goddesses.
Kronos is often misconstrued as the Lord of Time. Chronos is the real deity representing time, but as the mythology was passed down Kronos and Chronos became confused. Kronos is a Titan and Chronos is a deity like the Fates.
They fought against their father, Kronos (Chronos) as well as the rest of the Titans.
Aphrodite herself was a goddess. She was born from the severed penis of Chronos, being born in the froth of the ocean where the penis landed.
