The constitution limits the president. You can see it at work today. Trump wants a "Muslim ban" but this is against the constitution so it has been stopped by the courts. It is overt discrimination to pick out one group of people. Once one group is discriminated against the question is who is the next group to be banned.
The Anti-Federalists pushed for a bill of rights when the constitution was first being written.
The oath taken at the inaugural ceremony binds an elected official to support the Constitution of the United States. Sometimes the members of Congress are sworn in as a group. The President and Vice President are always sworn in individually.
The group of currently 538 people who are responsible for casting the votes that elect the U.S. President and Vice President is most commonly referred to as the electoral college, but the U.S. Constitution just calls them the electors.
The U.S. President's cabinet is not explicitly mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. However, authority for forming this advisory group is understood to be found in Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution, wherein is said that the President "may require the opinion, in writing of the principle officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices."National Security Council
