* If the couple is married then it would be: Mr. & Mrs. John Doe. If you know the woman more than the man it would Mr. John & Jane Doe. If you are inviting a friend that is dating someone or may want to bring a date then you would put: Mr. John Doe and Guest. If the couple is living common-law then it should be: Mr. John Doe and Ms. Jane Smith. If you have a single female friend then of course her name would come first and add 'and guest.'
