All hindus are not vegetarian. It depends on the tradition of the section. Even brahmins are allowed to partake non-vegetarian food. For people other than brahmins, the regulations are even milder. Of course, many hindus voluntarily abandon non-vegetarian food. Viashnavas (worshipers of Lord Vishnu) are generally vegetarians.
