The 1st film in the Assamese language was produced way back in the mid 30s unlike the other 6 sisters i.e. the N.E India's 6 close-knit bordering states with Assam as its gateway. Based on a play by writer Lakshminath Bezbaruah,the film was the brainchild of another literary great & the doyen of Assamese Silver-screen, Jyoti P.Agarwalla of Assam, India.
