there are no certain breeds that have a rep for turning on their owners..however owning a dog that has a history of being physically abused i'd be careful with..its all about how you shape a dog, not call it by its name.me myself am terrified of chiuahuah's! but i own a pitbull so it's all upto the individual dog, not a particular breed.

Dogs who are treated badly, neglected, or abused. Dogs who think that they, not their owner, are the Alpha of the pack or dogs that are trained to attack or defend against people (they may mistake their handler for one they are to be guarding against). Small dogs such as Chihuahuas and pomeranians are babied and sometimes not trained for they are small enough to not pose a threat. My belief (may no be true, just a theory) the majority of dog bites are by a small breed. The fact is that the most reported dog bites are by Labrador Retrievers because they have a reputation of being friendly, family dogs and are approached with less fear than, say, an APBT (Pit Bulls are some of the best dogs with kids and some of the most loyal. If is true that they have a tendency to be dog-aggressive, but proper training, which is often neglected, fixes that.), but my theory is that this massive number of small breed dog bites are not reported as they are not severe enough (small dog, small bite) to be reported.

No dog will "turn on their master" if the master is the dominant authority (the one in control). As Cesar Milan says, "Exercise. Discipline. Affection."

What dogs are more likely to bite?

Pitbulls are (absolute mongrels)Hogwash! That is an answer borne out of pure uninformedprejudiceIn some localities, the pitbull is the breed involved in most dog bites, however, according to throughout the U.S., mixed breeds are involved in most bites, and that the two pure breeds most often involved are:German Shepherd and Chow.Gee wonder why the most-owned dog in the U.S. would be the most-involved breed in dog bites. Also, children are involved in more dog bites than adults. Hmm, an unknown creature runs up and starts squealing and hitting me, I'm hitting back too!In fact, the Pit bull is one of the most loving and fanatically loyal breeds in existence. The history of the breed, and the continued use/abuse of the dogs for that purpose are what further their bad reputation.some good references on pit bulls. Also, to further the argument of mixed breed attacks, "mongrel" means a dog of mixed breed. Strike two!

What is the deadliest dog?

According to the Center for Disease Control, the top 10 most dangerous dogs are:1. Dachshunds2. Chihuahuas3. Jack Russell Terrier4. Chow Chows5. Australian Cattle Dogs6. Cocker Spaniels7.German Shepherds8. St. Bernards9.Great Danes10. bull mastiffAdditional Information:Because there is no way to know how many dogs of any given breed exist, there is no way to know what breed of dog has a higher likelihood to bite. Though statistics may show that a particular breed is responsible for a larger percentage of all recorded dog bites, it can not be said that that particular breed of dog is statistically more likely to bite than any other breed of dog. Without knowing the full population of dog breed x, you can not know what percentage of dog breed x has been involved in a bite incident. If a particular breed of dog is highly popular, it is likely that breed of dog will make up a larger percentage of total dog bites, but it does not indicate a higher likelihood that an individual from that breed will bite, only that the breed of dog is more popular.

Which is the meanset dog?

No dogs are inherently mean. Abuse and poor socialization can negatively affect the temperament of a dog. The most dangerous dogs are those that are not properly cared for, trained, socialized, housed, and fed. Breed makes little difference. It is impossible to know the likelihood that any dog of a particular breed will attack, because it is not possible to know the number of dogs of a particular breed that exist. If you don't know the total population of a breed, you can not calculate the percentage of those dogs that have attacked. Existing dog bite statistics are highly misleading, because they do not take into account the popularity of a breed. If a breed is more popular, it will likely make up a larger percentage of total dog bites. But that does not say anything for that particular breed's likelihood to bite. a pit bull they are the ones who will actually eat kids lol
