Surprisingly, the sloth is not even in the top ten. A fairly recent study from Germany on sloths in the wild indicates the sloth sleeps for just under 10 hours a day.

∙ 13y agoBats are the only mammals that can fly and the only mammals that sleep 14 hours a day. 14 hours is during daytime. All bats vission is not very good at day time so for their safety the need a safe place (cave) to stay during their sleep.
