The League of Nations existed before the United Nations but fell apart with the start of the second World WAr.
After World War I, the map of Europe drastically changed. Both the Ottoman Empire as well as Austria-Hungary no longer existed. However, a new country appeared after the war as well, Yugoslavia, known as the Kingdom of Serbs, became an independent country after World War I.
