The adrenal glands produce steroid hormones such as testosterone, aldosterone, and cortisol. The medulla is the interior portion of the adrenal glands and it produces epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Adrenal glands produces four type of hormones: Catecholamine, Aldosterone, Cortisol and Androgens like Testosterone.
Adrenal hormones come from you adrenal glands and thyroid hormones come from your thyroids.
You have thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands in your body. Thyroid produces thyroxine hormone. Parathyroid gland produces parathyroid hormone. Adrenal gland produces the cortisol and adrenaline, for example.
The adrenal medullas secrete hormones. It stressful situations, it release epinephrine and norepinephrine which increases heart rate, breathing rate, etc.Adrenal medulla produces the hormone adrenaline. It is released in response to stress.
zona glomerulosa: mineralocorticoids
Adrenal glands. The adrenal cortex supplies steroids, the adrenal medulla supplies epinephrine and norepinephrine (reference: Stedman's Electronic Medical Dictionary, version 7). They are also known as the suprarenal glands, b/c they are located above ("supra") the kidneys.
