Article 231. It was the Reparations Clause. It ordered the German Empire to pay reparations to the United States. The original amount was 226 billion Reichsmarks, but was later reduced to 132 billion Reichsmarks (worth about $438 billion USD, circa 2010).
This put Germany into a state of hyperinflation, making their money worth less and raising their taxes to astronomical proportions.

∙ 13y agoNot every German was most upset by the same thing, for example a member of the airforce would have been upset at having his job removed from him, but many of the German people would have been very upset about the "War Guilt Clause" as they thought it was a war of self-defence, and this clause meant they had to accept it was their fault and pay reparations.
On a side note, if you must type the questions from your homework (I assume?) into Wikianswers, please edit the question so that it is clear what you are referring to, otherwise people won't be able to answer your question. You're just lucky I'm doing this in History at the moment.
