There are so many historical figures and events in Christianity. Martin Luther and the protestant reformation are notable in the history of Christianity.
That would be the REFORMATION.
The Geneva Bible was printed in 1560 AD. It is considered the "Bible of the Protestant Reformation". It was also called the "Breeches Bible". It was a major translation of The Bible by a group of Protestant scholars.
The Reformation was a 16th-century movement in Christianity that led to the split between the Roman Catholic Church and various Protestant groups. Events that led to the Reformation include the criticism of the Church's practices, the publication of Martin Luther's 95 Theses in 1517, and the invention of the printing press, which helped spread ideas more widely.
In my eyes, no. The reformation could not have occured without the aid of Martin Luther. Many would say that he is the father of the reformation due to his contributions and overall spark towards such a revolution. Luther's 95 Thesis will go down as one of the most important and historic events in both cultural and religious history. Luther contributed an overall sense of hope to Europe and distinguished a strong disbelief in the governmental system functioning at that time. Such events would lead to many followers who would idealize the same beliefs and actions. This was indefinitely the spark of the Reformation, and without it, any historian can argue that the Reformation would never have even occured.
Counter Reformation 16th-century reformation that arose largely in answer to the Protestant Reformation; sometimes called the Catholic Reformation. Although the Roman Catholic reformers shared the Protestants' revulsion at the corrupt conditions in the church, there was present none of the tradition breaking that characterized Protestantism. The Counter Reformation was led by conservative forces whose aim was both to reform the church and to secure the its traditions against the innovations of Protestant theology and against the more liberalizing effects of the Renaissance.

Martin Luther posted his Ninety-Five Theses on a church door!!! The Theses were actually presented as a scholarly document to the Bishop of Brandenburg, his superior in 1517.
