I have always trusted Claire's the most, but it really depends on who is piercing your ear. Ask friends who have got their ears pierced at those places and compare the two.

How can you tell if your cartilage has been shattered by a piercing?

There will be bumps in the cartilage near the piercing. It is better to be pierced with a needle.

Is it better to get a cartilage piercing with a needle or a gun?

DO NOT get any sort of piercing done with a gun, this is piercing 101 - a piercing gun is not a means of piercing, because guns use blunt force trauma they can cause a lot of damage and shatter the cartilage (thus why they are not allowed to be used on the cartilage), they can misfire, they use inappropriate jewelry, and they can't be cleaned properly so risk infections as well as blood born diseases. If you want a piercing go to a piercing studio where they use needles, there is a little more pain but it's only for a second and will save you the pain of longer healing and infection.

Is it better to pierce with a needle or gun?

The Needle. Using The Gun To Pierce Like For Example Your Cartilage In Your Ear, The Cartilage Might Shatter And Youll Feel Tiny Bumps Around Your New Piercing, Thatll Mean You Have Shattered Your Cartilage. So In My Opinion For Choosing What To Pierce With I Would Have To Say A Hollow Piercing Needle :)

Where is the best place to get your ear pierced other than claires?

Your local Piercing & Tattoo parlor. Depending on were you live, all you have to do is type in 'Piercing parlor' into Google Map, and you'll get a couple places.

How long do you need to keep your tragus piercing in before you can change it?

A Tragus piercing, being a deep cartilage piercing should be left in for a period of 3~9 months to allow the piercing to properly season and toughen. As with any piercing they are never considered fully healed until they are a full year old. So the longer you can leave it alone without changing the jewellery the better it is for the piercing.

Does piercing pagoda pierce belly buttons?

I worked at a Piercing Pagoda for close to a year. They do not use needles, they use earrings that come in sterilized pre-packed compartments. The only thing they reuse is the gun they use to load the earring cartridge into. The gun never touches the ear, and if the employee is doing it correctly, they clean the ear using alcohol pads and marks with a surgical marker. It really is a 50/50 chance on whether your ears will get infected anywhere you go and as long as it's done right. Also, they give you options on what to get your ears pierced with (stainless steel, 14k gold) but they'll try to push gold on you since it costs more although it does do a better job at healing. Oh, and also, Piercing Pagodas only pierce earlobe and cartilage. They do not do body piercings, industrial piercings, or tragus piercings.

Should you get your cartilage pierced at a piercing parlor or Claire's?

Their might be some good deals out there but ALWAYS get body pierings at your docter. He knows best. And NEVER do the ice cube ans needle thing. It could ger infected. The sooner tthe piering the better. A store like Claire's is cheap and only wants your money. our better off at a parlor then claires. (I can guarentee that) ---Actually, doctors aren't trained to do piercings so they aren't better than going to a reputable parlor. You should definitely consult them about infections or injuries with piercings but not for them to actually pierce your ear.

Is Claires god at ear piercing?

Yes, they are very good at ear piercing. I highly recommend them. I just had my ears pierced there in February 2010 and they did a great job! They were super friendly and it was literally pain-free. They tell you what they are going to do, how they're going to do it, and when. They are super nice and very professional! However, Claire's pierce ears with a piercing gun (a machine which pushes a sharpened stud through the ear) which can be perfectly fine for ear lobes but is not designed for use on ear cartilage. So if you're looking for something more complex than an ear lobe piercing at standard gauge, then please find a reputable local piercer.

Whats the shortest amount of time you can wait to change a scaffolding piercing?

6 ~ 8 weeks for a very light heal, cartilage takes a long time to heal due in part to the lack of circulation in that area of the body. The longer you can leave the piercing alone without changing it the better it will heal.

I got a Cartilage ear piercing last night and it still hurts to twist it Is that okay My ear piercer told me to twist it and I have done it with previous piercings?

Cartilage is firmer tissue than just an earlobe, for example, so it may be more difficult to twist a cartilage piercing than it is a regular ear piercing. Since you just got it done, it is probably swollen, which would also make twisting it more difficult. Make sure you clean around the piercing very well with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. You also might put an ice pack on the piercing to help the swelling go down. If you do this, it should start to feel better in a couple of days. If it becomes more sore or red and inflamed, you should go have it checked out immediately because it may be infected.

Is it normal to have puss in your cartilage piercing?

Here's a better answer for you. No, it is not normal. It is more then likely that your piercing is infencted, and should be treated at once before it gets worse. Simply remove the earring, and clean the area with the cleaning substances you should have been giving when you got your piercing, and let the area heal. If it gets any worse, go see a doctor for better treatment. DO NOT PUT THE PIERCING BACK IN! If you want to get another cartilage done, you'll either have to wait for the area to heal completely, and then go back in and get it re-done, or have your other ear pierced. Either way, both require the proper care, meaning you need to clean it twice a day, and make sure you move it around every once in awhile.
