I prefer a reusable bag to both of those.
Paper bags. Because it is made from kraft paper and plastic grocery bags are made from plastic, which kraft paper is stronger than plastic, so paper bags can support more weight.
Wax paper (also waxed paper) can be purchased at supermarkets, in the aisle with other paper products, aluminum foil and plastic wrap.
You can drop it off at a grocery store such as Longo's

I personally think that you should get a plastic bag from the store because paper bags will rip a lot easier than a plastic bag will.
You take in your cloth bag to the grocery store or any store. Instead of having them put your goods in a normal paper or plastic bag, you have them load your goods in your cloth bag. You can reuse them until they rip.
You buy it at your grocery store. If you want to know how do you make waxed paper, please ask again.
Parchment paper can be found in most larger grocery stores. It is usually kept near the wax paper and foil. Just make sure you do not mix it up with wax paper, as they are not the same thing. If you don't have any luck in the grocery store near you, you can check out specialty kitchen or baking stores.

If there isn't any in the home section of your grocery store or mall then go online. A site called Plastic Place sells them and a bunch of other online store.
I would prefer paper bags over plastic bags due to their biodegradability and lower environmental impact. Paper bags are more easily recycled and decompose faster than plastic bags, which can take hundreds of years to break down and can harm wildlife in the process.
You shouldn't prefer anything to the reusable bags you bring in or buy at the store (so you can bring them in next time).Plastic bags clog things up, get eaten by sea turtles etc.Paper bags take up more space in landfills, don't biodegrade nearly as fast as people think they do, require more fuel to haul, and divert paper from better uses.
