Based on my research, the fat boy is bigger, and is slightly cheaper. It's really up to the buyer if they prefer a more square shape (Jansport) or more round (High Sierra)

No. A GMC High Sierra is the GMC equivilent to a Chevy Cheyanne trim level which offered - wood grain (73-77) or brushed aluminum (78 and up) interior accents, cloth seats, chrome trim, carpet, headliner, and more sound insulation. This is a common misconception that probably stems from the Ford High Boy, which did have a factory lift. However, the High Sierra came stock with identical suspension as the other GMC pickups from the era.
