Pegasus was the trade mark of the Standard Oil Company established in Ohio, 1870. In 1911 the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that Standard Oil must be dissolved and split into 34 companies, one of which eventually became Mobil, which adopted the Pegasus as it's logo.
