∙ 12y agoTheodore (Teddy) Roosevelt was an officer of the Rough Riders which was a cavalry unit that became famous for its charge up San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American war. They trained in Texas to prepare to fight in Cuba, Theodore Roosevelt recruited some of the members in a bar in San Antonio, next to the Alamo. The bar is still there. Leonard Wood was the commander of the unit.
