If you are talking about background, go to 'page layout' menu and select 'background'. On newer versions it is in the Page Background group in the Design tab on the Ribbon.

First go to the Page Layout tab in your ribbon. Next, in the Page Background box, should be a button that says Page Color. Click it. A pop up box should appear. Click the Picture Tab. It should be simple from there.
By default the background color of pages is white.Word 2010 and Word 20071. Go to Page Layout Tab (4th from left in the ribbon menu). In the Page Background group, find and click option 'Page Color'2. From the drop down menu pick your color. If you cannot see in the palette, click 'more colors'.You can also apply textures, gradients, pictures to background of documents.

You can use the key command CTRL+ENTER to start a new page in the same document in Microsoft Word. You must press control and enter at the same time. Hold down the control key and then press enter. If you want to start a whole new document (and thus a new page), go to File in the menu and choose New.
Use Page Layout view. In Excel 2007, it is located on the View tab of the ribbon, in the Workbook Views section.
View Tab > Zoom Group > One page. This will display one whole page on screen. NOTE: This applies to Word 2010 and Word 2007. Older versions do not have ribbon tabs.
