earth
—He was a polish astronomer, he was best know for his theory that the sun was near the center of the universe and that earth and other planets rotated around the center of the universe which makes sense to me because the planets rotate around the sun and he thinks that the sun is near the center of the universe. Copernicus did not believe that the earth and other planets were influenced by or revolved due to the sun, that kinda contradicts what I said, but in a way we are both coming together to say the same thing.
Nicolaus Copernicus was the first astronomer to formulate a scientifically-based heliocentric cosmology that displaced the Earth from the center of the universe. So yes I guess you can say he was a scientist.
