Aristarchus of Samos.
Aristarchus of Samos, a Greek mathematician and astronomer, about 2300 years ago.
Nicolaus Copernicus, in 1543 , proposed his version of the heliocentric (Sun-centered) organization of the universe.(from De revolutionibus orbium coelestium)Finally we shall place the Sun himself at the center of the Universe. All this is suggested by the systematic procession of events andthe harmony of the whole Universe, if only we face the facts,as they say, 'with both eyes open'.
Aristarchus of Samos was an ancient Greek astronomer and mathematician who presented the first known model that placed the Sun at the center of the known universe with the Earth revolving around it.
Copernicus proposed a sun centered solar system Galileo supported his belief.
It was nicoholas capernicum ___________________________ The earliest known person to write that the Earth moved around the Sun was the Greek astronomer and mathematician, Aristarchus of Samos.

The first person whose name is known to us (there may have been earlier ones, but we haven't found any historical record of them) was the Greek mathematician and astronomer Aristarchus of Samos.
Aristarchus was born in Samos, Greece in 310 BC. He was both a mathematician and an astronomer, and gave the world the first model of the universe with the sun placed at the center and the Earth revolving around it.
Hipparchus of Nicea (190-120 BCE)--> earth at the center. Aristarchus of Samos (310-230 BCE) --> sun at the center of the universe... The cast of priests/ engineers of ancient Egyptians (or the ancestors before the Ancient Egyptians) who built the Pyramids knew better: they had what we would now call a modern conception and understanding of the universe, or at least a part of the universe.
No--he believed that the sun was the center of the universe.
Aristarchus of Samos thought that the sun was at the center of the universe and some "educated" greek people thought that the earth was the center of the universe but they were dead wrong because modern science now has evidence that the sun is the center of the universe.
