The theme song you speak of does not have any lyrics. It was composed by a man named Alexander Courage ( to boldly go, indeed!) The song is an instrumental with a non-singing human voice humming sort of. It was NOT dubbed by Nichelle Nichols who had some singing background. Strange as it seems- the instrumental theme would not have been out of place on something more typical of Desilu productions- who produced Trek- but was better known for the Lucy programs=- The late Lucille Ball.
The Starship Enterprise of course. Yeah, that's with picard, kirk and archer, but there is also the defiant and voyager. Also Deep Space 9 is a space station but it still ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
R2-D2 makes two cameos in 2009's Star Trek, once in the debris of destroyed ships when Enterprise comes out of warp & the other when the hull is breached & crewmen get blown into space.
FTL is an acronym for "Faster Than Light," referring to drives that allow speedy travel, but are slower than the Hyperdrives used by the ships seen in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis.
The collective nouns are a fleet of ships or an armada of ships.
they are detected by other ships, and then a message is passed onto other ships so the ships know to look out for iceburgs
The US Navy has had eight ships named Enterprise. Other nations have had vessels of the same name. The US Navy has had 6 ships that have carried the name of USS Enterprise. The ships commissioning were 1799, 1831, 1874, 1917, 1938 and 1961. The Continental Navy commissioned two ships that carried the name Enterprise. These ships were commissioned in 1775 and 1776.
In the fictional Star Trek universe the various Enterprise named ships excluding the NX-01 captained by Jonathan Archer are given the ship designation number NCC-1701, NCC-1701A, NCC-1701B, NCC-1701C, NCC-1701D, NCC-1701E etc. These various ships all named Enterprise have appeared within the Star Trek Films, Books and magazines across the years. NOTE: There are pre-federation ships also recognized with the ship name Enterprise.
Technically all of the enterprise's have sister ships. Any ship of the same class would be a sister ship. The class name is the same as the first ship of said class usually. So the NX01, had a sister ship, the Columbia, even though it was an "nx" class which in the ST Universe is a bit of a misnomer, in the fact that is part of it's designation, as the NX is the experimental designation while NCC is the service designation. The original series enterprise had many sister ships, including the Defiant, Potempkin, and Constitution among others. Movie Enterprise, was the refit so again the same ship names would have applied. Enterprise B, was Excelsior Class. C was the Ambassador Class. D was the Galaxy Class. E was the Sovereign Class. As for Naval ships here, the original Enterprize a sailing ship from England, the answer I believe is no. As for U.S. Naval ships, then the answer is yes. Since none of them are "Enterprise" class vessels. Incidently I know that U.S. Naval ships are different from Star Trek, but Star Trek traditions are based uponm a mixture of United States, British, as well as other Maritime Naval Traditions. This happens to be one of them.
Ships like the USS Forrestal and Enterprise could get over 35 knots.
See website: Battle of Midway The Enterprise, Hornet, Yorktown and Lexington.
This varies from ship to ship (there are many ships named USS Enterprise in the Star Trek universe). Enterprise NX-01 (without the USS prefix) had a crew compliment of 83. Enterprise 1701 and 1701-A from the original series and movies had 430. Enterprise 1701-D from The Next Generation had 1000 (but that included the civilian families of the crew as well). Enterprise 1701-E (from the latest TNG movies) had a crew compliment of 885.
A mirror can be used as a reflector to signal passing ships or airplanes. A mirror may be used to signal a ship or an airplane that you are on the island. Reflecting the sun's rays into the cockpit of an airplane might bring help.
Cranky the Crane was featured in the long running children's TV show Thomas and Friends. He is a green-grey tower crane that works at the docks loading and unloading ships
May 18, 1775 - Benedict Arnold captures British sloop and renames her Enterprise, first of many famous ships with that name.
The Starship Enterprise of course. Yeah, that's with picard, kirk and archer, but there is also the defiant and voyager. Also Deep Space 9 is a space station but it still ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
