How close together the molecules (particles) are in a substance/material. Solids are closely packed, liquids are loosely packed, and gas are very loose, freely moving molecules.
Molecules of all compounds are structured. The liquid as a state of matter is not very structured.
There is no chemical difference, the only difference is the speed in which the molecules of the substances move. Slower molecules can be solid or liquid and very high speed molecules can be gas.
Molecules inside liquids are loosely bonded to their neighboring molecules. The bonds are constantly breaking and reforming so the liquid can flow. This also keeps the liquid at a constant volume.
Vitamin C molecules, water molecules and glucose molecules are very easily absorbed because they don't have as many particles as starch molecules, protein molecules and fat molecules.
Solids have closely-packed molecules, and very little energy Liquids have loosely-packed molecules and some energy, and gasses have very lose, free molecules, and very high energy.

crystalline
The state of matter depends on the number of atoms / molecules in a given area / volume. If there are more number of molecules, then it will be in solid state and if it is very less molecules then gases. This inturn may depend on the intermolecular force of attraction between the atoms in them. In the case of solids, the force of attraction is high and hence there are more number of molecules present.
The state is a solid because there molecules are so close which is why they keep there definite shape and volume.
flordiaAnother View: Since statistics on this VERY loosely categorized grpup of persons are not required to be kept - it is extremely doubtful that the above answer can be substantiated.

Even in a quiet place, you can hear sounds. All matter is made of molecules. Molecules can be tightly packed together as in a solid or they can be loosely packed together as in a liquid or gas. When energy strikes the molecules of matter, it causes the molecules to vibrate back and forth, producing a wave that transmits sound energy. The closer the molecules, the more easily sound can be transmitted. Since molecules in a solid do not move very far and bounce back very quickly, a solid is an excellent transmitter of sound. Liquids do not transmit sound very well, but gases are the poorest transmitters of sound.Best,tommyboy9810
The states of matter all have to do with the distance between the molecules. In the gas state, the molecules are very far apart. The heat causes them to move faster, making them move further apart creating the gas state. When you remove the heat, the molecules slow down, bringing them closer together into a liquid state. If you cool them further, they will reach a solid state.
